- Sad, but yours seems to parallel several of the reports in ZyXel's
- own beta mailing list/conference - - seems I recall even reading a
- couple fellows asking for RMAs to get their money back for their steeply
- discounted "Beta Deal" modems.
-
- I started out with one of the U1496S+ models with the nifty LCD display,
- but quickly became disenchanted with it when I heard ZyXel's trade-in
- offer to move up to "vaporware". It also irritated me that ZyXEL showed
- no interest in endorsing AT&T's interim 19.2 protocol while the V34 dust
- settled. I was further incensed by ZyXel's intermidable foot dragging in
- doing ANYTHING toward producing a V34 product. I was fortunate enough to
- be able to dump it for $300 last October. Le$$on learned.

- "Sigh" is an understatement.
