  34. Sad, but yours seems to parallel several of the reports in ZyXel's
  35. own beta mailing list/conference - - seems I recall even reading a
  36. couple fellows asking for RMAs to get their money back for their steeply
  37. discounted "Beta Deal" modems.

  39. I started out with one of the U1496S+ models with the nifty LCD display,
  40. but quickly became disenchanted with it when I heard ZyXel's trade-in
  41. offer to move up to "vaporware".  It also irritated me that ZyXEL showed
  42. no interest in endorsing AT&T's interim 19.2 protocol while the V34 dust
  43. settled. I was further incensed by ZyXel's intermidable foot dragging in
  44. doing ANYTHING toward producing a V34 product. I was fortunate enough to
  45. be able to dump it for $300 last October. Le$$on learned.
